In this article we will configure Spring Boot to connect to a Neo4j database.

Neo4j Server

Install and run Neo4j server

docker run \
  --publish=7474:7474 \
  --publish=7687:7687 \
   --volume=$HOME/neo4j/data:/data \
    arm64v8/neo4j:2025-community-bullseye

Create Initial Code Base

Go to https://start.spring.io/
Click Add Dependencies, search for neo4j, then add
Click Add Dependencies, search for Lombok, then add
Click Generate
